Art just like love are special presents of the species of mankind and as such cannot be done in a rush. Even valuable materials and fabrics as well as the knowledge of how to work with them cannot be done in a rush either.
Claudia Baetge, has been working as a well known German goldsmith for 30 years and also teaches young goldsmiths the success in the trade. In February 2005 Claudia Baetge travelled to far away Australia, accompanied by a TV and Camerateam among which was the international Australian artist - photographer Garry Orriss. While travelling down under Claudia Baetge found 4 oz of gold and an amazing 482 Carats of blue sapphires. Through this unexpected success of her trip to Australia, an international film started to take shape. The film made by Goart.com reflects on the goldsmith and the relationship between people and stones. The reading of the rocks, and seeing beyond the landscape through the stories of the local aboriginal people. Her found pieces form the basis of Claudia Baetge's newest creations. Claudia Baetge has won many international prizes and has been exhibited in many well know exhibitions.
